TOMBSTONE
Forgotten Tales - The Promise
A new power metal band from Canada, playing epic metal with female vocals. Their influences are basically coming from the European scene and bands
such as Stratovarius and Helloween to name just a couple. For once these guys
are actually good. They've got a singer with a very good voice, still rather
raw but nevertheless good and both the guitars and the rhythm section are
playing good. This is their debut album and it's obvious that they haven't
reached their peek yet. There's still much of their talent left unexplored. Now
this is actually a good thing if you consider that the album is actually good.
There's potential in these guys and if you allow me to risk a prediction I'd
say we'd pretty soon listen more from them and from a decent label. They need
some work concerning their arrangements and the singer has to learn to use her
voice a bit better, but the songwriting is good and the musicianship is even
better. Being a self financed album the production is far from perfect, but
again it's pretty decent for an independent effort. Now there's a band with
talent and one that leaves hopes for something better in the near future.
